AC repair done right the first time.
When the cooling quits during a Bay Area heat wave, you need a straight answer fast. Since 1986, Delcon has diagnosed and repaired air conditioners across the region — refrigerant leaks, capacitor failures, airflow problems, and everything in between.

The repairs behind 90% of AC failures
Most "dead AC" calls come down to a handful of root causes. Here's how we handle each one — no parts-cannon guessing, just measured diagnostics.
Refrigerant leak detection & repair
Low refrigerant isn't a top-off problem — it's a leak. We use electronic leak detection and nitrogen pressure testing to find the exact failure point, repair it, and recharge to manufacturer spec.
- Electronic & UV dye leak detection
- Nitrogen pressure testing
- Coil & line set repair or replacement
- Proper refrigerant recovery & recharge
Capacitor & electrical failures
The most common reason an AC dies mid-heat-wave is a failed run or start capacitor — a quick fix when caught right. We test capacitors, contactors, and control boards on every call so a $30 part doesn't become a burned-out compressor.
- Run & start capacitor testing and replacement
- Contactor and relay service
- Control board diagnostics
- Hard-start kits for aging compressors
Airflow diagnostics
Weak airflow, frozen coils, and rooms that never cool down are usually airflow problems, not equipment problems. We measure static pressure and temperature split to find the real bottleneck.
- Static pressure testing
- Blower motor & wheel service
- Duct leak testing & sealing
- Room-to-room balancing
System performance testing
Every repair ends with a full performance verification — superheat, subcooling, and amp draw — so you know the system is actually fixed, not just running.
- Superheat & subcooling measurement
- Compressor amp draw analysis
- Thermostat calibration
- Written performance report
AC down in a heat wave?
We answer 24/7 — nights, weekends, and holidays. Stocked trucks mean most repairs finish in a single visit.
Repair or replace? We'll show you the math.
Every diagnosis comes with both numbers: the repair cost and, when it makes sense, a replacement quote with real payback math. No pressure either way — our job is a working system, not a bigger invoice.
- Upfront pricing before any work begins
- Repairs honored with parts & labor warranty
- All brands serviced — not just what we install
- High-efficiency replacements when repair stops making sense

Common AC repair questions
My AC is running but not cooling. What's wrong?
The three most common causes are a refrigerant leak, a failed capacitor, or restricted airflow from a dirty coil or duct issue. All three are diagnosable in a single visit — we test the whole system rather than guessing at parts.
Is it worth repairing an older AC unit?
If the repair is under about a third of replacement cost and the unit is under 12 years old, repair usually wins. Older units with R-22 refrigerant or a failing compressor are often better replaced — we'll give you both numbers and let you decide.
Do you offer emergency AC repair?
Yes — 24/7, 365 days a year. Bay Area heat waves don't wait for business hours, and neither do we. Comfort Club members get priority dispatch.
How much does AC repair cost in the Bay Area?
Simple fixes like capacitors run a few hundred dollars; refrigerant leak repair or blower motors cost more. We quote upfront before any work starts, so there are no surprises.
